Don't just say "Hi."
This page isn't about being polite. It's just pointing out the obvious: say what you need in your first message.
❌ Hi
Sent. Now the other person has to wait for you to finish your message.
✅ Hi, can you review PR #12?
Done: who, what, where. No fluff.
When you just write "Hi", you make the other person wait. Their attention shifts, they stop what they're doing, and they're left on hold until you finish your sentence. In work environments or fast-paced chats, this interrupts their flow and delays the response.
The solution: Be friendly and clear. "Hi" + what you need = efficient communication.
